Social MEdia and MArketing
THE SUNSHINE METHOD
I have been able to develop my media literacy skills while creating content to share on the Sunshine Method's website and social media pages. My responsibilities include conducting interviews to spotlight members of the organization, creating flyers and banners for the social media campaigns, and developing a monthly newsletter.
Service Site Coordinator
ERIE NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE
I served as a liaison between DePaul faculty/students and the staff at Erie Neighborhood House facilitating weekly service to teach ESL to (majority) spanish speaking adults in my community. I also partook in weekly service myself, and led reflections for students. This opportunity allowed me to become a more confident Spanish speaker and hone my cross-cultural communication skills.
DePaul Leadership Scholar
DEPAUL UNIVERSITY
As a DePaul Leadership Scholar (DeLS), I am expected to be a leader in my community and practice Vincentian values. This includes participating in or leading community gatherings, holding a leadership position, maintaining a 3.0 GPA or above, and being an active member in the Department of Mission and Ministry. Through this scholarship, I have learned the importance of community and become a more selfless and open person.
Server and bartender
I started as a server and soon became a bartender and restaurant key-holder (this means I am responsible for unlocking and locking up the restaurant for close) after demonstrating competence, exceptional customer service, and trustworthiness. Due to my experiences as a server and bartender, I work very well under pressure and am very well-versed in conflict resolution.
