Press Release

This is a mock press release I drafted for Writing for Public Relations. My client was Kannaway, one of the first brands to incorporate hemp into their products. The goal of the press release to inform the public about an upcoming gala sponsored by Kannaway.

Public Relations Campaign

DePaul offers 'campaign' courses which allows students to spend an entire quarter working on one PR campaign, start to finish. I had the opportunity to work with the directors of marketing at Wendy's as well as staff at Ketchum, including the Senior Vice President. This opportunity gave me hands-on experience conducting research, brainstorming creative 'big ideas', and ultimately creating a PR plan which we then presented to a panel of esteemed judges. I learned what it means to productively work with a team, how to conduct an effective focus group, and developed my presentation skills.

A Marketing Proposal for Morton Salt Inc

For my Ethics in Public Relations and Advertising class, I was asked to develop a proposal for any brand. My goal was to create a program that promotes Corporate Social Responsibility. My campaign addressed the issue of environmental degradation and proposed that, amongst other actions, a portion of Morton's profits will go towards creating green spaces in Chicago and revitalizing the land that is harmed from salt erosion.

Key Messages and Talking Points

I have practiced my skills as a spokesperson or brand representative through in-class activities such as drafting key messages and talking point documents in a timely matter. This has allowed me to think quickly and critically about how I can concisely convey the message a company wants to share with the public.
